Capriano del Colle (BS), 9th February 2023 – IMG, the leading manufacturer of injection moulding machines for elastomers and thermosets in Italy, continues its expansion across borders. The company has started to work with Germany, where it made its debut last October with the REM 300, the first full electric rubber moulding machine in the world, and already among the winners of the Tech Fast tender of the Lombardy Region. IMG is now looking to England and Ireland, which it has been presiding over since the 30th January with an agent on site from the MAPRA Technik agency, a firm that has been representing international companies in the UK since 1990. This collaboration is added to those already existing in Spain and Portugal.
The Italian market makes up the 80% for IMG, while the foreign market the 20%. The aim is to increase the foreign turnover by 30% within 3 years.
“This is the first time that IMG has landed in the UK, so we are very pleased to have an agent directly on site. This allows us to assist our British customers more carefully and to be quicker in case they need assistance” explains the CEO Barbara Ulcelli. “IMG also plans to create other collaborations in the near future, especially in Europe, always with a focus on Germany, which has great potential for us and, after Italy, is our second market.
IMG will face this new challenge counting on quality, innovation and sustainability: factors that have made it a leader in the Rubber Valley, the world-famous Sebino district, which includes part of the provinces of Bergamo and Brescia.
The British marketplace is particularly interesting for IMG. The rubber industry in the UK is characterised by specialised companies that produce in small volumes and batch sizes, but with a great variety, from O-ring seals to oil seals and rubber soles for high quality footwear. Rubber parts are produced for demanding industries with very high-quality standards, such as the automotive, oil and gas and aerospace industries. The main demand is from the automotive sector (well-known car manufacturers, but also Formula 1 teams and engine manufacturers). The production value of rubber products in the UK is estimated at over €4 billion and employs over 20,000 people.

IMG is the Italian leader in the sector of injection moulding machines for elastomers and thermosets. Founded in 2006, it is based in Capriano del Colle, in the province of Brescia, the cradle of the Italian manufacturing industry. Its main market is the Sebino district, worldwide known as the Rubber Valley.
